Cocktails: Drink Like it’s the 1920s!
Despite Prohibition, people were enjoying delicous cocktails during thr 1920s in speakeasies and their homes. Here are some of the most popular mixes:
Highball
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces whiskey
- club soda
- ice
- lime for garnish
Instructions:
Add ice and whiskey in a highball glass, and then top off with club soda. Finally, garnish with lime wheel.
Bee’s Knees
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces gin
- 3/4 lemon juice
- 1/2 once honey syrup
- ice
- lemon for garnish
Instructions:
Chill a martini glass or coupe. In cocktail shaker, add ice, gin, lemon juice, and honey syrup and shake to chill. Strain into chilled glass and garnish with lemon wheel.
Clover Club
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces gin
- 3/4 ounce raspberry liqueur
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 egg white
- raspberry for garnish
Instructions: Chill a martini glass or coupe. In a cocktail shaker, add gin, raspberry liqueur, lemon juice, and egg white. Dry shake for 45 seconds to mix the ingredients and create a froth. Add ice to shaker and shake to chill. Strain into chilled glass and garnish with raspberry.
